Oop, wild month, but we made it. Migrated computers, and I don't think it totally ruined anything on the blog. I did forget everything I've checked out since last time so prepare for some "I sure did watch this"-ass posting

Batman: The Animated Series
Its so confident. It so immediately strikes a tone the feels bigger than just "those batman movies what just came out" - it grabs and pulls from the larger noir and pulp and tv landscapes. The show feels like it was always a memory. No matter how old you are, your remember watching an episode of Batman, or remember something like it - the sights, the sounds all evoke so perfectly a timeless city. It's really no wonder The Big O comes out of this in a way.
My Hero Academia & My Hero Academia: Vigilantes
I tossed out some more normal opinions about these two because frankly I already said what I had to a friend (hi) while reading them and my thoughts haven't changed that much. I'm far enough out where the only thing left percolating is "Yeah, Lady Nagant really is fuckin cool," so I'm not really going to bother to force out more than that, its not really what im here for I suppose.
Have You Seen Lady Nagant Tho? Horikoshi knows how to make some fuckin blrobos dude.
Nikke Godess of Victory
I wouldn't have played Nikke if it wasn't a gatcha game. That's fucking icky, but its honest. If it wasn't one of the most boldfacedly like gooner bad porn-webtoon lookin-ass gatcha games in the world I don't know if I would have heard "its actually got a fun and interesting scifi sad robot girl story under all that" and then cared enough to pay like 40 bucks for it? It also feels nasty of me to be like haha funny titty game in the world where like a million games that might be porn or might just be a little queer are being nuked off the internet, but here I am because like...
It's real funny sometimes. It feels a bit like a communication thing - a lot of commissioned artists given free reign on a game that does have like pretty standard anime fanservice writing periodically in the early story. Fate/Grand Order also suffers from this, but the Nikke feeeels like, a step up.
I dunno, I guess i feel a little guilty about the semi bad faith way I came into Nikke. I don't know if its always consistent or earnest in its intents, even its horniness, but I do get glimpses of that. Some of these artists have to be doing this for the love of the game, man.
