I'm like, grasping here. I feel like g-reco is dangling a little jar with easy answers, clear motives, and All That Shit That Happens Off-screen On Purpose right above my head, and jangling it. I'm tall enough is the thing, but the show pulls away - not cruelly, but like - Tominio is doing some Mr Miyagi shit? We're at the gym, and coach is trying to get me to grasp something, to break through the wall. This is Medalist, this is my training arc; we both know I can do this, and I know I can do the work, but i just don't know how right now.

It feels overwhelming on purpose - 2014 was not 1999, and 26 episodes is not 50. A lot of the problems in the year of our lord 2026 are the same as 2014 are the same as 1999 as 1993 as 1985 as 1979 as as as, but our ability to be overwhelmed is exponentially more. I - to contradict myself, the answers are there - it is a clear show in ways that I don't think i'd feel about earlier tomino directed gundams even after surviving the gauntlet. Which leads to this, like, particularly satisfying frustration when the pieces don't quite click. This is outer wilds to me, but not quite clean. Less astonishment and satisfaction and more stoking the fire. Listening to ggp and reading some other works, does bring some like confidence - I did get there, I am making the connections that the real vets are making. When bellri tells you you won't understand if you don't watch, he is right. rude, but correct.
